Also, I found out what happened to that ship that came to Brazil and located a piece of it.

It was called the Dom Afonso, a 6 gun frigate. It saw action against Argentine forces that were blockading the River Parana in 1851 (there is a painting) and later ran aground in heavy fog at Massambab Beach, Cabo Frio.

The ships wheel is on display at the naval museum in Rio de Janeiro, 15 minutes from our office.
